Why it took FUNimation so long to get this title out considering the popularity of the original series back in 2008? Who knows... maybe it's got everything to do with Lelouche being not alive in this story arc and thus haven't really been able to grab enough of the old fans' interest?

Regardless, FUNimation Entertainment released this week the five voice actors of the English dub cast that will be playing the main characters for Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.

Micah Solusod as Akito Hyuga
Jeannie Tirado as Leila Malcal
Ricco Fajardo as Ryo Sayama
Aaron Dismuke as Yukiya Naruse
Elizabeth Maxwell as Ayano Kosaka

The "new" sequel series has a North American release date on Blu-ray and DVD combo on June 27, 2017.

A spinoff of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion TV anime series, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is actually not a sequel but is set in between the two seasons of the original series when Britannia was in the middle of invading all of Europe. Akito is the name of one of the main character who is a member of the W-0 suicide unit of exiled Japanese (Elevens) sent to the battlefield in Europe to fight against Britannia.
