Fate / Zero – Blu Ray Release

by TechGeek Team

(フェイト/ゼロ) is a prequel to Type-Moon’s hit game turned anime series based on a visual novel Fate/stay night, a light novel by Gen Urobuchi, illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi.

Fate/zero takes place 10 years prior to the events of Fate/stay night, showing the events of what happened in the 4th Holy Grail War. The War of the Holy Grail is a contest in which seven powerful Magi summon seven Heroic Spirits from ancient history to battle and obtain the power of the “Holy Grail,” that grants the winner a miracle. The war has been fought inconclusively on three separate generations without obtaining the elusive Holy Grail. Now in Fate/Zero, the series showcases the events that happened in the Fourth Holy Grail war.

The Blu-ray Disc Box for the Fate/Zero television anime series ships with a new bonus extra, written by Type-Moon’s Kinoko Nasu, on March 7, 2012 includes Japanese and/or English subtitles.

Newtype Magazine already revealed earlier this year that the box (the first of two) will have the “original edition” of the first 13 episodes with scenes cut from the television broadcast.

The entire set will include a total of five Blu-ray Discs and will of course feature in 16:9 high-definition widescreen format. Other extras include a collection of trailers, a television commercial collection, and the credit-less opening and ending animation sequences.

As an added bonus among the bonuses, the box set will also include the Fate/Zero Original Soundtracks Vol.1 CD composed by Yuki Kajiura, an original drama CD supervised by director Gen Urobuchi, a box illustrated by original character designer Takashi Takeuchi, and a Fate/Zero Animation Material book featuring exclusive new interviews and animation production materials such as pencil drawings and storyboards.

Showing off how popular this series is running in Japan, a passenger bus liner was decorated with a Fate Zero anime decal poster all across its sides!
