OXFORD Dictionary officially recognizes “LOL”, “OMG”, and “Hentai”

The Dictionary of English Oxford  add new elements to their new editions (including the On-Line) such as "LOL" and "OMG" words that are part of the Internet jargon.


What's more, they also added the term "Otaku" and "Hentai":

Hentai (hen-tai) / Henti, /:
noun

A subgenre of the Japanese genres of manga and anime, characterized by overtly sexualized sexually explicit images and characters and plots.

Origin: 1990s: Japanese, literally 'abnormal, perverted'

Which could be translated as:

Hentai:
Substantive

A sub-genre of manga and anime genres of Japanese, which is characterized by the characters in sexual situations and sexually explicit images.

1990: Japanese, literally "perverted abnormal"

It is not the first time that the dictionary adds an otaku slang, as in the past they have added Hikikomori which is the stereotype of a person with little or no social relationship,and spends all day locked in his room.
