Along with other game and anime industry production personalities in Japan, are attending the event on February 1 which will screen a new trailer for the movie and handout lottery tickets for the chance to win movie tickets to see Ready Player One in Japanese theaters. The tickets will also grant guests to backstage events.

Ready Player One is a movie based on the book written by Ernest Cline dubbed as the "holy grail of pop culture." because it includes crossover-style character references from a variety of well known franchises.

The movie trailer has featured even brand new pop-culture and game characters not written in the book such as Overwatch's Tracer as well as well known ones like Street Fighter's Chun-Li, Gundam, Akira, Back to the Future, King Kong, and The Iron Giant just to list a few.

However, not all character references in the book are included due to the fact that even a movie with this objective in mind can still reach a limit to getting granted licensing from their original sources. The original author said in a recent interview how some of his favorite anime characters were not included, such as Ultraman and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Ready Player One opens in theaters on March 30 in the U.S. and on April 20 in Japan.
