We mentioned in our previous article that SAO (Sword Art Online) has a big year coming 2017 with several animated works being released which includes a season 3 and an Anime movie. But its franchise has also been expanding on the game industry as well.
Bandai Namco released a couple of short commercials for its upcoming Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita game. The game has a release date in Japan on October 27 and plans to release the game in North America and Europe around the same time. The international version of the game will feature Japanese voices with English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish subtitles.
A special North American Collector’s Edition for the Playstation 4 release will come with six-inch Kirito and Asuna figures, a bonus Blu-ray Disc with official soundtrack CD along with mini posters, and an Art book. Additionally, Pre-orders of the game will receive a product code for an exclusive additional character costume.
The new game’s trailer highlights a couple of new characters named Premiere (female) and Genesis (male). According to sources, Genesis is also another “Black Swordsman” in the VR Game just like Kirito.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is also going to have a Manga series to be published in the upcoming official Sword Art Online magazine. This just goes to show you how big and strong the SAO franchise is going. No wonder Hollywood noticed it enough to buy the rights for a Live-Action TV series coming 2017.
