Tekken: Blood Vengeance (鉄拳 ブラッド・ベンジェンス) is a full 3D computer-animated film based on the widely popular Tekken video game series, produced by Digital Frontier and distributed by Asmik Ace Entertainment. The CG 3D movie has no relation to the live-action TEKKEN movie that came out in 2010.
The CG 3D movie first premiered in North America on July 26, 2011 for a special exclusive one-night screening event. The Blu-ray released on November 22, 2011 is available with both original Japanese language or English Dubbed audio and featured a new “Hybrid” format which included the 3D movie and two TEKKEN video games all in one disc. The Hybrid Blu-ray includes the original TEKKEN Tag Tournament game in a remastered HD version and a demo of the new upcoming TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2.
The Blu-ray is also to be noted as completely compatible to play in any stand-alone Blu-ray players, without the use of a Playstation 3 console system. For some of you that wonder about the “3D” part of the title, this means that the movie will automatically kick in as 3D for those viewing it from a 3D-capable TV, but will play just as well in beautiful true-HD quality on non-3D TVs. This film was also released on DVD on November 22, 2011 (2D Version only).
The stage for a final showdown is prepared as Anna Williams and the G Corporation set a trap for her sister Nina who works for Jin Kazama, head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Both Jin and his father, Kazuya Mishima of the G Corporation, seek to possess and control the M Cell that will unlock the destructive supernatural powers buried within the Mishima bloodline.
Kazuya dispatches Ling Xiaoyu to a prestigious international school to spy on Shin Kamiya, a victim of secret genetic experiments and may hold the key to the M Cell. While investigating Shin, Xiaoyu befriends Alisa Bosconovitch who also shows an interest in Shin. Their new friendship is put to the test as they are caught in the middle of the Mishima family feud. The final battle explodes in a three way battle between father, son and even grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, the mastermind behind the M Cell conspiracy. Who will claim the M Cell and unlock the full power of the Devil Gene?!
In review, this movie was made specifically for the video game’s fans all over the world and those who enjoy the CG movie genre.
” At the end of the day, I love this movie for what it is: a 90 minute visual hailstorm of one of my favorite video games of all time. It was funny, beautifully created and it thrilled my inner child like no other to watch something I’ve loved so long on the big screen for well, 90 minutes straight.”
